NOTE: These descriptions are for roleplay purposes only. Take no offense when you choose a role. Of course, pack Alphas have permission to change their member's ranks. It would be cool if a few people could at least choose the low ranks. You can also make several characters (accounts) and place them at different ranks, then get a taste of each rank.
Alpha:
The leader of the pack and mate to the Alpha Female. The alphas decide what to do during wars and conflicts. They are extremely considerate, committed, and dedicated to the pack, although that may not always be so. Alphas may, on occasion, become tyrannical and abuse their power.
**NOTE: Alphas will almost always be staff. That does not mean if you become an Alpha, you are automatically staff.
Beta:
The wolves who give the Alphas advice. They are powerful, but to a certain extent. These wolves are handpicked by the Alpha. There are a maximum of two in each pack.
Guards:
They guard the camp and send out warnings to the inhabitants about any trouble. They are strong, muscular, and trained to fight. Defensive abilities depend on the pack. 2 years old or older.
Hunters: They scourge the territory to find any pieces of prey they can obtain. These wolves often have lithe shapes. Their hunting abilities and target prey depend on the pack. 2 years old or older.
Pups:
These are the ones who have just entered the world. They range from the mewling blind to the curious, nosy adolescent. They are usually under 2 years old. A wolf who does not treat these pups nicely may be condemned. Litters are often named "[father name] and [mother name]'s Litter". Pups are actually a higher rank than Omegas. All pups go through a coming-of-age ceremony at the reaching of 2 years. Pups start 'basic training' at the age of 3 months.
Elders:
These wolves have served the pack and earned the ultimate respect. Almost everyone likes thee wolves for their wisdom and enticing stories. Traditionally, a greeting for these elders is a head bow and a prayer for long life. They often receive their food first and are well-cared for. There are no tasks required for them except to keep dubiously loyal to the pack. Elders may be cynical or grumpy. These wolves are over 7 years.
Omega:
These wolves recently joined the pack. They are assigned the task of caring for pups when parents are not around. If there are no other tasks available, they are given the worst jobs. Jobs depend on pack. Wolves who have done wrong are also lowered to this rank. These wolves are commanded to keep themselves low to the ground, ears flattened, tails tucked, and overall, submissive. If any order is questioned, they are punished. Often used as scapegoats. They eat last during mealtime. It's okay to be mean to them in a roleplay.
